Jae Seung Hancock was born in Seoul, Korea, but grew up in a suburb of the Twin Cities. They are a dancer and painter based in Portland, Oregon. They have worked with Disjecta Contemporary Art Center, CoHo Productions, The Holding Project, Theatre Diaspora, and Tongue Dance Collective. As a multidisciplinary artist, their work explores movement, colors, and textures within nature such as ocean waves, wind, and lava.
